This is a great recipe for those mornings when you need a really good incentive to get out of bed. It is simple, quick and healthy, while tasty enough to make your morning a bit brighter.
Since I don’t have a microwave, I’ve cooked the oatmeal the old-fashioned way. Obviously, if you do have a microwave, feel free to use it.
You will need the following:
- 1 tablespoon (or, really, as much as you want) of raisins
- 1 banana
- rolled oats
First, I put half a bowl of water to boil on high heat. Once it’s boiled, i turn down the heat to medium and add the oats and the cold milk. You will then have to stir for a bit.
Once you are satisfied with the consistency of the oatmeal, turn off the heat and add the raisins. They will keep on cooking even with the stove off, so feel free to mix them in nicely.
Mix them in for about 1 minute, and then pour the mixture into a bowl. It should look something like this:
Then peel of a banana, cut it and add it on top. Your oatmeal will be sweetened by the raisins, while the banana will add a nice flavor to the whole dish.
All there’s left to do is to enjoy your breakfast! Watch out though, the dish will be hot, so try not to burn your tongue – it can make for quite a senseless day. Bon appetit!
